Raison d’Etre was created in late 2000 early 2001 in London by French duo Crystal & Yvan to provide a place where like-minded people could come together to share and express ideas. It draws people from all over the world and from all social and ethnic backgrounds.
   Its ethos is to promote and gain exposure for anyone involved in positive creativity; whether via music, dance, comedy, poetry, visuals, spoken word, mime – whatever. Performers are welcome to network and form collectives. Any form of ‘isms’ are not tolerated; nor are performers with delusions of grandeur or superstar egos. Raison d’Etre is run for and by music-lovers: something that is evident the moment a person walks through the door. The atmosphere is welcoming, the organisers supportive and friendly, and the music is guaranteed to leave a smile on your face.

With a limited budget and even less time, it is a tribute to the hard-working Healer Selecta and Miss Crystal that their original vision has attracted such a strong and loyal crowd, keen to follow them on their musical journey.
