Working with Raison d'Etre

- by Cameron Dundee
My gig on January the 4th at the Spitz was Raison d'Etre's first birthday there and almost mine by a month. I've been playing for Yvan & Crystal now for nearly two years and have watched many of the artists mature from young saplings into mighty oaks!
From Raison d'Etre's early beginnings in the Cafe El Paso it has hosted great nights in The Spitz, Troy Bar, The Shoreditch Electricity Showrooms, Notting Hill Arts Centre, Sahara Nights, 93 Feet East, Rhythm Factory, Cargo, Jazz Cafe and now Mass.
Yvan and Crystal planted something magical two years ago and to have been there and watched it grow has been a real privilege. Their successful nights go to prove the amount of hard work and dedication they have put in.
The audience at most of their venues are always appreciative: but then again where else can you go to watch up & coming artists from all around the world - each with their own blend of musical styles, dance, spoken word - perform for free at nights which last for seven or so hours?
It is a joy to be part of Raison d'Etre and to perform with them at their various venues. I have met many people from all over and made many friends.
There are many people now who want to be a part of Raison d'Etre and are putting in their worth to help. May Yvan & Crystal's audiences and artists keep on growing.

There will be many performers in the future who will one day turn around and say "My success I owe to Yvan ( Healer Selecta) & Crystal. If it hadn't been for that gig at               I would never have been spotted!"
